With gas prices going down of late, people are venturing out beyond their immediate localities a little more. Now's the time to market not only within your farming area but in the outlying regions and neighboring border lines. Much advertising focus has traditionally been on the mass communication level but statistics show that people like to shop the businesses in close proximity to their homes, work places and favorite hangouts. If you invest in advertising at all do so wisely and target that niche market - that clientele that will appreciate you for the standout specialty you bring to your community.
 
One great way to do this is through direct mail (DM) but don't use the same boring junk mail that everyone else seems to be using (and everyone on the receiving end seems to deposit immediately into the nearest junkmail receptacle). Spend just a little bit more to develop your packaging (i.e. the envelope, coupon, postcard, etc.) with some real pizzazz and flair, something really eye-catching, so that when you send out your coupon (offering however much off specials to those whoevers coming in before whenever expiration date) let us design it so there's a little something extra to make their whatever eyes stick to it. Hold a Customer Appreciation Day

Want to attract more customers to your storefront or place of business? Here's a great idea: Advertise Customer Appreciation Day to all of your existing clientele. Promote it through flyers, DM, email, your website, or whatever means you're using now to stay in touch, inform them that you are going to be holding this event and that free caricatures will be offered as part of the deal. All they have to do is show up. Whatever the occasion, caricatures are always sure to draw a crowd. Word of mouth travels fast where free caricatures are concerned so it will be well worth your advertising dollar to hire one, or maybe more, for the turnout.
